Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of API management or integration experience.
3+ years designing, developing, and implementing RESTful or GraphQL APIs for systems integration.
Strong experience with JSON and XML.
3+ years of programming/scripting in Unix, JavaScript, and Python.
Experience translating requirements into API specs using RAML or OpenAPI.
Understanding of API design, management policies, and best practices.
Hands-on Agile and Scrum experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare functional and test data, and support testing activities including API performance testing.
Integrate third-party services through APIs using standard methods.
Design and implement integration solutions aligned with architecture and business needs.
Define and drive integration strategies with architects.
Translate requirements into API specifications and designs.
Collaborate with teams to implement APIs and integrations per IT framework.
Provide guidance on API protocols to build secure, maintainable APIs.
Build and maintain API specs and documentation.
Document integration processes and create user guides for team use.
Perform and verify integration-point testing for projects and support activities.
Investigate issues and provide root-cause analyses and event logs.
Coordinate technical documentation through approvals.
Engage with customers to understand requirements and resolve issues.
Develop automated performance monitoring and reports on recurring problems.
Participate in knowledge transfer and production support activities.
Hands-on coding, code reviews, deployment, and production support.
