SC Johnson is seeking a detail-oriented Freight Billing Validation specialist to support both international and domestic invoicing. The role emphasizes accurate billing, timely submissions, and collaboration with Accounts Payable and Logistics teams to prevent delays.

Job Summary

This role supports the Freight Billing Validation function which is responsible for analytical tasks with a focus on quality work output and detection of incorrect vendor charging. Additionally, this position is responsible for the communication with the vendor of incorrect charges and monitoring of invoices and credit memos received for both international and domestic freight invoices. This position serves a critical supporting role for multiple markets in both routine tasks as well as implementing process improvements that are aligned with the leadership team.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform 100% validation and tracking of freight vendor billings, including Billing Summary Reports (BSRs), invoices, credit memos, and related supporting documents, in accordance with approved work instructions and established controls.


• Ensure timely and accurate completion of freight billing validation and submission of validated invoices to the designated AP OCR mailbox/invoice repository within the 5-day SLA


• Identify, investigate, and coordinate the resolution of billing discrepancies, missing documentation, and outstanding items with freight vendors and relevant internal stakeholders to prevent payment delays and potential shipment disruptions.


• Monitor aged and unresolved freight billing items, perform timely follow-ups, and escalate complex or high‑risk issues to leadership when additional support or intervention is required.


• Maintain complete and accurate records and supporting documentation to ensure transaction traceability, process compliance, and audit readiness.


• Actively contribute to LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of freight billing and related processes.


• Collaborate effectively with Accounts Payable, Logistics, Finance, and freight service providers to support timely invoice processing and effective end‑to‑end freight billing operations.

Job Requirements

• Full‑time, permanent employment


• Onsite work setup (M-F); remote work once a week is available after 3 months


• Work Hours: 8:00AM or 9:00AM to 5:00PM or 6:00PM (Mondays thru Fridays)


• Overtime might be required depending on the critical deliverables


• This role is not eligible for relocation
