Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; copy of diploma required.
• Minimum of six (6) years of experience as a journeyman welder, plus body repair and painting, with at least five (5) years in supervisory roles.
• Must have a driver's license (preferably a CDL).
• Must be certified welder and possess a Welder’s Qualification Test Certificate (WQT).
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be flexible to adapt to changing mission priorities and needs.
• Must have strong analytical skills.
• Must be able to read, write and speak fluently English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of the welding, fabrication, machining, repair team, and equipment paint shop.
• Ensure established policies and procedures are enforced effectively.
• Control shop maintenance schedule to maximize use of personnel.
• Implement regulatory safety requirements and ensure appropriate PPE usage.
• Set deadlines, priorities, and work sequences; plan assignments per supervisor guidance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
