Cebu Pacific Air in Pasay, Philippines seeks an experienced engineer to maintain aircraft communication systems, lead IT integration projects, and ensure cybersecurity compliance. This role supports the Network Control and Operations Support Department to keep flights on schedule and secure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aeronautical/Aerospace/ECE) or related field.
• 4+ years in aircraft communication systems, IT, innovation or related engineering.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity for operational and communication systems.
• Experience with IT technologies and aviation system integration is preferred.
• Familiarity with process automation and aviation regulations is a plus.
• PM/IT certifications or training are a plus.
• Experience in service support and troubleshooting is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain the reliability and performance of aircraft communication systems (ACARS, VHF, SATCOM, ADS-B, etc) including its integration to 3rd party systems.
• Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to ensure costs are within the budget, identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational improvement.
• Liaise with service providers to ensure an acceptable level of service, regularly reviewing performance metrics and conducting service updates.
• Plan and manage projects related to the upgrade, integration, and optimization of aircraft communication systems, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
• Stay updated on industry advancements in automation, communications, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies, proactively identifying, evaluating, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and streamline workflows.
• Work with cross-functional teams to improve communication system configurations, resolve connectivity issues, and implement solutions that align with goals. Maintain documentation for system setups, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Lead projects as the main technical contact, using IT, automation, and data analytics to improve efficiency. Guide teams to implement new technologies, set goals, and communicate progress.
• Integrate new technologies into workflows, ensuring they work with existing systems. Provide technical support for departmental projects and promote continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with data management and security policies for communication systems. Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to protect systems and meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aeronautical/Aerospace/Electronics and Communications (ECE) or a related technical field.)
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft communication systems, IT, Innovation or related engineering roles.
• Has knowledge of cybersecurity practices for operational and communication systems.
• Preferably with strong understanding of IT technologies and their integration into aviation systems.
• Preferably with knowledge in process automation.
• Familiarity with aviation regulations and standards related to aircraft communications is a plus
• Project Management and/or IT Certifications/Training is a plus.
• Service Support and Troubleshooting experience is a plus.
