Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in air conditioning and refrigeration technology.
• Minimum 3–5 years of proven HVAC or Aircon Technician experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

About the role

Holiday Plaza Hotel is seeking a skilled and dedicated Aircon Technician to join our facilities management team in Cebu City. This is a full-time position based on-site at our hotel premises. As an Aircon Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of air conditioning and refrigeration systems throughout the hotel. This role is critical to ensuring optimal climate control across all guest rooms, public areas, and operational spaces, directly contributing to guest satisfaction and comfort. You will work closely with our facilities team to maintain our HVAC systems in peak working condition, troubleshoot issues promptly, and ensure all systems comply with safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems throughout the hotel
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all HVAC units to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in air conditioning systems
• Carry out repairs using appropriate tools and replacement parts, keeping detailed records of all work completed
• Monitor refrigerant levels and recharge systems as needed, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
• Conduct regular system checks to identify potential issues before they affect guest comfort
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls for system failures
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
• Document all maintenance activities and maintain accurate service logs
• Collaborate with other members of the facilities team to ensure seamless hotel operations
• Stay updated with industry best practices and new technologies in air conditioning and refrigeration

What we're looking for

• Diploma or certification in air conditioning and refrigeration technology or equivalent hands-on experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an HVAC or Aircon Technician
• Strong knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including troubleshooting and repair techniques
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for system testing and maintenance
• Understanding of electrical systems as they relate to HVAC equipment
• Valid certification in handling refrigerants and compliance with environmental standards
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
• Flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance requests and occasional out-of-hours call-outs
• Valid driver's licence is advantageous
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces when necessary
