Job summary

EastWest Banking Corporation seeks an AI Governance Head to lead the bank's end-to-end AI governance framework, spanning RPA, ML, LLMs, and third-party AI solutions, ensuring ethical, secure, and compliant use of AI in line with BSP regulations.

The role will drive risk assessment, lifecycle governance, and documentation standards, collaborating with risk, compliance, IT, data, and legal teams to enable scalable adoption across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technology, data, risk management, or related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
• Certifications in risk management, compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity, or AI ethics are a plus.
• Extensive experience in banking, risk management, IT governance, data governance, or model risk management.
• Strong understanding of AI technologies (RPA, ML, LLMs) and risk controls.
• Deep knowledge of BSP regulations, Data Privacy Act, outsourcing, and model risk principles.
• Proven track record engaging regulators, auditors, and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Bank's AI governance framework, policies, standards, and controls covering RPA, ML, LLMs, and third-party AI solutions.
• Establish AI risk assessment and mitigation frameworks addressing model risk, bias, explainability, data privacy, cybersecurity, and third-party risks.
• Oversee AI lifecycle governance from use-case intake and risk classification through validation, deployment approval, and post-implementation monitoring.
• Define standards for model documentation, testing, explainability, human oversight, and control mechanisms for responsible AI deployment.
• Build AI governance capabilities across the organization through training, playbooks, templates, and standardized governance processes.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, IT, Data, Cybersecurity, Legal, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and responsible AI adoption.

Our Enterprise Data team is looking for experienced professionals to join us in Taguig with the role of AI Governance Head.

In this role you will lead the design and execution of the Bank's end-to-end AI governance framework, covering RPA, machine learning, LLMs, and other AI technologies across their full lifecycle, from ideation and deployment to ongoing monitoring. You will ensure the safe, ethical, explainable, secure, and compliant use of AI in line with BSP regulations, data privacy and model risk standards, while enabling responsible and scalable adoption across the organization.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in technology, data, risk management, or a related field; an advanced degree is an advantage.

• Professional certifications in risk management, compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity, or AI ethics are a plus.

• Extensive experience in banking, risk management, IT governance, data governance, model risk management, or related disciplines, with exposure to AI/ML governance preferred.

• Strong understanding of AI technologies, including RPA, machine learning, and large language models, with the ability to assess associated risks and control frameworks.

• Deep knowledge of BSP regulations, the Data Privacy Act, outsourcing requirements, and model risk management principles.

• Proven track record of engaging with regulators, auditors, senior leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders on governance and risk matters.
