Job summary

NSJ Technologies Inc. seeks an Agr iculturist Head to lead end-to-end agricultural operations in Bagac, Philippines. You will direct crop and livestock programs, integrate agroforestry with cash crops, and ensure regulatory compliance while driving profitability.

Lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage resources and budget, and advance soil health, GIS/GPS data use, and DRRM practices to build resilient agricultural systems.

Qualifications

• Degree and license required for practice in the Philippines.
• 5–10 years of progressive agricultural operations management experience.
• Strong planning, financial oversight, and leadership across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of soil science, plant biology, and animal husbandry; familiarity with GIS/GPS.

Responsibilities

The Agriculturist

Head is responsible for the end-to-end management of agricultural

operations, ensuring environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, and

maximum profitability. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams,

oversee resource allocation, and implement long-term strategic plans for crop

and livestock production.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Operational Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive farm management plans, including crop cycles, livestock breeding programs, and soil health management.
• Agroforestry & Sustainability: Manage large-scale land use by integrating native tree species with cash crops (e.g., coffee, cacao) to maintain ecological integrity and comply with DENR/SAPA licensing requirements.
• Livestock Management: Supervise health, nutrition, breeding, and bio-security programs to prevent disease outbreaks and ensure high-quality output.
• Resource & Financial Oversight: Manage the annual budget, procurement of farm inputs (fertilizers, feeds, equipment), and the maintenance of machinery and infrastructure.
• Technical Compliance & Research: Enforce national agricultural standards and local regulatory requirements. Conduct site-specific research to optimize yields through modern technology (e.g., precision farming, GIS mapping).
• Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise farm staff, technicians, and laborers; foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and productivity.

Qualifications

Education & Professional Eligibility

• Degree: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a closely related field (Master's degree in Agricultural Management is highly preferred for executive-level oversight).
• License: Must be a Licensed Agriculturist (RA 1080) in the Philippines.

Experience & Skills

• Experience: At least 5-10 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale, diverse agricultural operations (including livestock and high-value crops).
• Management Competencies: Proven track record in operational planning, financial management, and leading large, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Strong knowledge of soil science, plant biology, and animal husbandry.
• Familiarity with GIS, GPS, and data management software for precision agriculture.
• Expertise in Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) for agricultural resilience.
• Soft Skills: High level of adaptability, strong communication skills for dealing with stakeholders and local government units, and a commitment to environmental stewardship.

Strategic Considerations for the Bagac Site

• Direct Agroforestry Experience: Specifically those familiar with the intercropping of native species with high-value perennials.
• Regulatory Proficiency: Experience working with local Philippine agencies (DENR, DA, and local LGU offices) to ensure the project remains compliant with land-use policies.
• Crisis Resilience: Experience managing operations in upland or rural areas susceptible to weather-related challenges.
