  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and channel partners, offering both technical and commercial support.
  • Gather market intelligence to refine sales strategies.

Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and versatile Agricultural Business Development Lead to support Qarbotech’s expansion in the Philippines, combining agronomic expertise with partnership and commercial development to drive product adoption and market growth. The role involves working closely with farmers, distributors, cooperatives, and institutional partners to coordinate field activities and trials, translate agronomic insights into practical outcomes, and support market entry initiatives. The successful candidate will balance strong field engagement with relationship-building and commercial awareness, with opportunities to take on broader responsibilities and grow into leadership roles as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities
a) Agronomic Advisory & Client Support

Provide expert agronomic guidance to farmers, distributors, and institutional partners to support adoption of QarboGrow and other Qarbotech solutions.

  • Conduct field visits, soil assessments, crop monitoring, and diagnostic evaluations to understand client needs and production constraints.
  • Develop customized agronomic recommendations based on crop type, location, and growing conditions.
  • Plan and oversee field trials with partner farms, cooperatives, and research organizations.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret agronomic data to provide actionable insights for clients and internal teams.
  • Report crop performance, field observations, and ROI improvements to support validation and product refinement.
  • Support sales growth by identifying potential clients (farms, cooperatives, input distributors, agribusinesses) and promoting product adoption.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and field training to drive commercial interest and conversion.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to develop market entry strategies, pricing discussions, and client proposals.

c) Collaboration & Product Adaptation
  • Work closely with the R&D and product development teams to contextualize product performance under Philippine conditions.
  • Provide structured feedback to improve formulations, trial protocols, and application guidelines.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and support onboarding or mentoring of new team members involved in trials, technical support, or product deployment.
  • Support regulatory documentation or technical materials when required.
d) Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
  • Act as the primary point of contact for selected strategic partners, coordinating joint activities such as trials, demonstrations, trainings, and pilot programs.
  • Build, manage, and strengthen strategic partnerships with agricultural agencies, research institutions, cooperatives, agribusinesses, and distribution partners.
  • Engage with research institutions, government agencies, cooperatives, and agribusinesses to strengthen local partnerships.
  • Participate in agricultural fairs, industry events, and meetings to expand Qarbotech’s visibility and network in the Philippines.
  • Provide feedback to R&D to support local adaptation of products, trial protocols, and technical materials.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and technical workshops for stakeholders.
  • Represent Qarbotech in client meetings, industry events, and agricultural programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
a) Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Soil Science, Plant Science, Biochemical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 5–10 years of experience in agronomy, agricultural advisory, field trials, or technical roles with regular client‑facing or commercial responsibilities.
b) Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency in crop diagnostics, nutrient management, soil and leaf sampling, field experimentation, and scientific data interpretation.
  • Experience conducting structured field trials and generating technical reports and recommendations.
  • Familiarity with Philippine cropping systems, climate variability, and regional agronomic constraints.
  • Knowledge of agricultural technologies, farm equipment, and precision agriculture tools is an advantage.
c) Communication & Professional Skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Filipino, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; capable of proposing practical, field‑ready solutions.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple field activities, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience leading or coordinating agronomy or technical projects is an added advantage.
