About the role
The Actuarial Specialist, Par Management and Risk Modelling is responsible for supporting participating (Par) business management activities and risk modelling initiatives within the Actuarial Valuation function. The role plays a key part in dividend studies, Par reporting, financial condition testing, and risk sensitivity analysis, providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive annual dividend studies for traditional participating (par) products
Analyze experience and financial results to determine appropriate dividend recommendations
Prepare and present well-supported dividend recommendations to the Chief Actuary and senior management
Prepare quarterly valuation deliverables related to traditional participating products, including Time Value of Guarantees (TVOG) and Unallocated Dividend Liability (UDL)
Perform stochastic asset modelling using actuarial software
Support the preparation of regulatory and management reports related to the participating business
Prepare reports required for OSFI and other regulatory reporting requirements
Contribute to the completion of the annual Financial Condition Testing (FCT) process
Perform scenario analysis and assess the financial impact of adverse events
Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of risk sensitivity models for market and insurance risks
About you
University degree with a strong mathematical or statistical background
Associate or near‑associate of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines (ASP)
Minimum of 7 years of actuarial experience, preferably within life insurance
Strong knowledge of actuarial modelling and valuation concepts
Hands‑on experience with actuarial modelling software, preferably AXIS
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
