Monroe Consulting Group seeks an experienced AR Manager in Alabang to own wholesale and retail receivables, lead a six-person team, and ensure accurate cash application and reconciliation. You will work with the US Controller, operating on US Pacific hours with autonomy and accountability for aging and DSO performance.
Role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 7+ years AR experience including team leadership, and strong English communication.
We're a tire and wheel trading company with our own brands manufactured overseas. Our Alabang office runs the accounting for our US business, and you'll own the receivables side of it - what customers owe us, what actually comes in, and whether those two ever disagree without someone noticing.
You'll lead a team of six AR and collections specialists, organized into two groups: one working collections, the other working cash application and payment-type reconciliation. Collections is primarily wholesale and retail, and wholesale is where the balances and the risk concentrate.
You'll report directly to our US Controller. There is no manager layer between you and them. That means real autonomy on the day-to-day and real accountability for what the aging looks like.
The shift runs on US Pacific business hours - start time sits between 11:00 PM and 12:00 midnight Manila, shifting with US daylight saving. That's deliberate. Collections is a phone job, and you can't collect from customers who are asleep.
Collect. Own the aging on wholesale and retail. Prioritize by exposure, not alphabetically. Call the accounts that move the number, and write follow-ups that produce a payment date instead of a reply. Know the difference between a customer with a cash problem and a customer with a dispute they haven't mentioned yet.
Get the cash applied cleanly. Payments arrive by ACH, wire, check, and card, and they rarely arrive with clean remittance detail. Your team applies them, clears unapplied cash, and reconciles receipts by payment type back to the bank and to Odoo. Unapplied cash sitting on the balance sheet is a collections problem wearing an accounting costume.
Work the deductions. Wholesale customers short-pay - claims, RMA credits, promo and rebate deductions, freight chargebacks. Each one is either a credit we legitimately owe or a receivable we're about to lose through neglect. Drive them to resolution, and make sure the recurring patterns get back to Sales and Operations instead of dying in your queue.
Own the customer record. Create and maintain customer profiles in Odoo - address changes, banking detail updates, tax and payment-term changes. The accuracy of that data is what makes collections, cash application, and credit decisions possible in the first place.
Manage credit exposure. Review credit applications, monitor limits, and recommend holds and releases. You build the case with the numbers; the US Controller approves. Where an account is heading toward agency placement, legal referral, or write-off, you document it and recommend - the US takes it from there.
Report the truth. Aging, DSO, cash collection forecast, and bad-debt reserve recommendations, on a cadence your US counterparts can plan around. Surface deterioration while the balance is still collectable, not after.
Lead the team. Six people across two functions. Balance the load, cross-train so no account or process has a single point of failure, and coach on why an error happened rather than quietly fixing it yourself.
People who can be firm with a customer on Tuesday and still have the relationship on Wednesday. Who treat an unexplained short-pay as a question rather than an annoyance. Who can decide alone at 3:00 AM Manila time and know which single item is genuinely worth escalating. And who would rather deliver bad news about an account early than hope it resolves itself.
It's a night shift, and the start time moves by an hour twice a year with US daylight saving. Month-end and year-end are heavier. You'll report to a manager fifteen hours away, and you won't have a local boss to check with - the autonomy is real, and so is the exposure that comes with it. If that works for you, the rest of the role is a strong one: a team to build, a portfolio with direct leverage on company cash, and processes you'll get to fix rather than just operate.
