Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an Accounts Assistant on a contract basis. The role is based in the Singapore River Central Region and focuses on recording, processing, and managing financial transactions within a maritime energy context.

You will support cost accounting, assist in financial reporting, and help maintain orderly financial records while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Qualification in accounting, such as an LCCI qualification or studying towards an accounting qualification.
• Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy in financial data.
• Basic understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Good organisational skills and ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication and collaborative work.

• Experience in cost accounting or maritime industry advantageous.

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant on a contract basis. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital support role contributing to the accurate recording, processing, and management of financial transactions. This position is fundamental to ensuring the smooth operation of our cost accounting functions and supporting the wider financial objectives of the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Processing and recording financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner

• Supporting the cost accounting function by tracking and categorising operational expenses

• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements

• Maintaining financial documentation and ensuring proper filing and organisation of records

• Liaising with internal sections and external parties to resolve accounting queries

• Supporting accounts payable processes

• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures

• Performing general administrative tasks as required to support the finance team

What we're looking for

• Qualification in accounting, such as an LCCI qualification or equivalent, or studying towards an accounting qualification
