UNITED SHALOM HOSPITAL is seeking an Accounting Team Lead to oversee day‑to‑day finance operations in a hospital setting. You will mentor staff, optimize workflows, and ensure accuracy and compliance across financial records.
Lead month‑end close, prepare reports, enforce internal controls, and manage tax compliance while driving process improvements with Excel automation and ERP systems.
We are seeking a sharp, analytical, and leadership-ready Accounting Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of our finance and accounting department. In a hospital setting, the accounting team manages highly complex financial cycles—from patient and HMO billing to medical supply procurement and statutory tax compliance.
As the Team Lead, you will bridge the gap between transactional tasks and strategic financial reporting. You will be responsible for mentoring a dedicated team of accounting staff, optimizing workflows, and ensuring absolute accuracy and compliance in all our financial records.
Supervision & Mentorship: Lead, guide, and review the daily work of the accounting staff (including accounts payable, receivable, disbursements, and general bookkeeping).
Month-End & Year-End Closing: Oversee and expedite the month-end closing process, ensuring all journal entries, bank reconciliations, and subsidiary ledgers are completed accurately and on schedule.
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing comprehensive financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses for evaluation by executive leadership.
Internal Controls & Audits: Monitor and enforce strict internal financial controls; act as a primary point of contact for external auditors and ensure all documentation is flawless.
Tax & Statutory Compliance: Oversee the accurate preparation and timely filing of all government tax requirements (e.g., BIR, local business permits) and statutory employee benefits.
Process Optimization: Evaluate existing accounting workflows and implement Excel-based automation or system upgrades to improve team efficiency and reduce manual errors.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy. Being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly advantageous but not strictly required if equivalent leadership experience is proven.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management. Prior experience leading or supervising a small team, or working within a healthcare/hospital environment, is strongly preferred.
Advanced Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (nested formulas, pivot tables, data automation) and deep comfort working with specialized accounting software or ERP systems.
Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership presence with the ability to delegate effectively, resolve team conflicts, and explain complex financial data clearly to non-finance department heads.
Integrity: Uncompromising ethical standards and a highly analytical mindset.
