Job summary

BPO International, Inc. seeks an experienced Accounting Manager in the hospital/healthcare sector to oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 8–10 years in accounting, CPA preferred, and proven leadership in revenue cycle management, PhilHealth reimbursements, and audits across multiple hospital facilities. This role requires strong analytical skills, ERP/HIS proficiency, and the ability to drive process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • CPA preferred or active CPA licensure.
  • 8–10 years progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role in hospital settings.
  • Extensive knowledge of hospital accounting, healthcare finance, revenue cycle, and cost accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations including General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Payroll and Treasury.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per applicable standards.
  • Oversee revenue recognition, billing reconciliations, PhilHealth claims, HMO receivables, and patient accounts.
  • Ensure accurate recording of healthcare revenues, professional fees, charity accounts, and government reimbursements.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital for financial stability.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and address findings.
  • Develop internal controls to safeguard assets and minimize risks.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with department heads on budget utilization and planning.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting team for growth.
  • Review policies, implement improvements, and drive automation.

Job Description: Accounting Manager (Hospital / Healthcare)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Accounting Manager with extensive experience in the hospital or healthcare industry to oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of hospital financial processes, revenue cycle management, PhilHealth reimbursements, healthcare regulations, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Payroll, and Treasury.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Oversee hospital revenue recognition, billing reconciliations, PhilHealth claims accounting, HMO receivables, and patient account reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate recording and monitoring of healthcare revenues, professional fees, charity accounts, and government reimbursements.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure the hospital's financial stability.
  • Ensure compliance with BIR, SEC, DOH, PhilHealth, PEZA (if applicable), and other government regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Develop and strengthen internal controls to safeguard hospital assets and minimize financial risks.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with department heads regarding budget utilization and financial planning.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team to ensure high performance and continuous professional growth.
  • Review accounting policies and procedures and recommend process improvements through automation and best practices.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive management and the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly preferred.
  • At least 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role in a HOSPITAL.
  • Extensive knowledge of hospital accounting, healthcare finance, revenue cycle management, and cost accounting.
  • Strong understanding of PhilHealth claims processing, HMO billing, patient accounting, and healthcare reimbursement systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), taxation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience handling annual external audits and government audits.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and hospital information systems (HIS), as well as Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in multi-hospital or tertiary healthcare institutions.
  • Background in healthcare financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
  • Experience implementing ERP or hospital accounting systems.
  • Knowledge of healthcare costing methodologies, DRG/case rates, and revenue optimization initiatives.
  • MBA or other advanced finance-related certifications are an advantage.
