The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting project-based financial management. This role plays a critical part in maintaining cost control, compliance, and timely reporting within a construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and review daily accounting activities (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger)
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Monitor and analyze project costs, budgets, variances
- Ensure timely and accurate progress billing and revenue recognition
- Oversee tax compliance, including VAT, EWT, and other BIR requirements
- Prepare 2316 and alphalist for expanded withholding tax compensation
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
- Coordinate with project managers/engineers on project financial status
- Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness of financial records
- Implement and improve accounting systems and internal controls
- Train, mentor, and supervise accounting staff
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Financial reporting and analysis
- Tax compliance (BIR regulations)
- Experience with:
- Accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle)
- Familiarity with:
- Project accounting
- Job costing and budget monitoring
