Job summary

mWell (Metro Pacific Health Tech) is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations and maintain the integrity of financial records. The role involves supervising staff, ensuring BIR compliance, and supporting audits and financial reporting.

Responsibilities include reporting, cash flow monitoring, and strengthening internal controls. CPA is preferred but not required; SAP/Oracle/QuickBooks experience is desirable for this leadership position in Metro Manila.

The Accounting Supervisor oversees daily accounting operations and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role involves supervising accounting staff, ensuring compliance with Philippine tax regulations (BIR), and supporting financial reporting and audits.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations

• Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS)
• Review general ledger entries, journal vouchers, and account reconciliations
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations

2. Team Supervision

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Review and assign tasks, ensuring deadlines are met
• Provide training and performance evaluations

3. Audit & Internal Controls

• Assist in internal and external audits
• Ensure proper documentation and audit trail of all transactions
• Strengthen internal controls and recommend process improvements

4. Budgeting & Financial Analysis

• Assist in budget preparation and forecasting
• Analyze variances and provide recommendations to management
• Prepare financial reports for decision-making

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred, not required

Experience

• At least 3–5 years of accounting experience
• With at least 1–2 years supervisory experience
• Experience handling Philippine tax compliance and BIR reporting
• Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation and compliance regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Leadership and interpersonal skills
