Velox Energy Philippines Corporation is seeking a diligent Tax Accountant to ensure compliance with local and national tax regulations. You will manage tax-related accounting functions, prepare tax returns, and support the finance team in meeting statutory obligations.
The role requires a degree in Accounting or Finance, 2–3 years of tax experience, knowledge of Philippine tax laws, and proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring our organization maintains full compliance with all local and national tax regulations. In this position, you will be responsible for managing tax-related accounting functions, preparing tax returns, and supporting our finance department in meeting all statutory obligations. This role is essential to our operations, helping to safeguard the company's reputation and financial integrity whilst minimizing tax liabilities.
Prepare and file accurate tax returns in compliance with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) requirements and deadlines
Maintain comprehensive tax records, documentation and supporting schedules for audit purposes
Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations, ensuring the organisation adapts to new compliance requirements
Calculate tax liabilities including income tax, value-added tax (VAT), withholding taxes and other statutory obligations
Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate posting of tax transactions in the general ledger
Support the preparation of tax provision analyses and financial statement footnote disclosures
Process payroll tax withholdings and social security contributions
Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants as required
Assist with tax planning initiatives to optimise tax efficiency within legal boundaries
Maintain organised tax files and ensure proper document retention and archiving
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in tax accounting or tax compliance functions
Sound knowledge of Philippine tax laws, BIR regulations and tax compliance procedures
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with complex tax calculations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Clear understanding of financial statements and general ledger accounting principles
Good communication skills with the ability to explain tax matters to non-financial stakeholders
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Knowledge of payroll accounting and statutory remittances is advantageous
Prior experience in the energy or utility sector is preferred but not essential
