Job description

We are looking for a Tax Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Philippine tax compliance and accounting principles, with at least 1–2 years of relevant experience. You will be responsible for the preparation, filing, and reconciliation of tax returns, ensuring compliance with BIR regulations and supporting internal and external audits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (e.g., VAT, Expanded Withholding Tax, Income Tax, Percentage Tax) in compliance with BIR regulations.
• Ensure accurate computation and timely payment of all applicable taxes.
• Assist in reconciling tax accounts with the general ledger.
• Organize and maintain tax records and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
• Support responses to BIR queries, Letters of Authority (LOA), and other regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated on changes in Philippine tax laws and help implement necessary compliance adjustments.
• Coordinate with accounting and finance teams on tax-related matters.
• Use BIR platforms such as eFPS and eBIRForms for electronic filing and submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or related course.
• CPA license is a plus but not required.
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in tax compliance or general accounting.
• Familiarity with Philippine tax laws and BIR procedures.
• Proficiency in Excel and basic accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

• Experience with tax assessments or BIR audits.
• Exposure to LGU permits or SEC filings is an advantage.
• Background in a corporate, audit firm, or shared services environment.
