Job summary

Magna Prime Chemical Technologies Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant to develop and maintain cost structures for products and services while monitoring inventory values across materials, WIP, and finished goods.

The role ensures accurate recording of landed, manufacturing, and overhead costs and analyzes variances to drive cost-saving actions. The incumbent will prepare monthly cost reports, gross margin analyses, and profitability studies, support pricing decisions, and assist in management

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate product and service cost structures.
• Monitor inventory evaluation, including raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
• Ensure proper recording of landed costs, manufacturing costs, and overhead allocations.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs and investigate variances.
• Prepare cost variance reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Evaluate production efficiency, wastage, and operational expenses.
• Support management in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, gross margin analysis, and profitability studies.
• Support pricing decisions by providing accurate cost data.
• Assist in management presentations and financials reviews.
• Maintain cost accounting records in the accounting system (Acumatica)
• Improve costing methods, procedures, and internal controls.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Warehouse, priduction, and Sales departments.
• Participate in physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
