Job summary

Altametrics is seeking a seasoned accountant (US GAAP) to lead financial close, reporting, and controls from a permanent remote location. You will collaborate with US management, supervise staff, and drive process improvements across the accounting stack.

Ideal candidates bring a CPA license, 5+ years in accounting with 2–3 years in senior roles, and strong Excel + QuickBooks Online or Xero experience while aligning with US business hours from the Philippines.

Qualifications

• CPA license required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 2–3 years in a senior or controller-level role.
• US GAAP knowledge preferred.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online or Xero and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Owns the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow in US GAAP.
• Supervise accounting staff, review reconciliations, AP/AR, and payroll.
• Establish internal controls and support external US audits.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections; analyze variances.
• Improve accounting tech stack for efficiency (QuickBooks Online, Xero, Bill.com).
• Ensure compliance with US tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Close: Owns the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with US GAAP.
• Technical Accounting: Researches and resolves complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, intercompany transactions, and multi-entity consolidation.
• Team Leadership & Review: Supervises and mentors accounting staff, delegating work and reviewing reconciliations, AP/AR, and payroll to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Internal Controls & Audit: Establishes, monitors, and improves internal controls, and acts as the primary contact for external US audits.
• Strategic Planning: Develops budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections, and analyzes variances to support executive decision-making.
• Process Improvement: Optimizes the accounting technology stack (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, Bill.com) to drive efficiency and automation.
• Compliance: Ensures compliance with US federal, state, and local tax requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• License: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), with strong knowledge of US GAAP preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or controller-level role, preferably in a US-based company or BPO setting.
• Technical Skills: High proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero, and advanced Microsoft Excel (modeling, lookups, pivot tables).
• Communication: Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) for presenting to US management.
• Work Schedule: Willingness to work US business hours (night shift in the Philippines)
