Job summary

HERB FOOD SOLUTIONS INC. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting in a dynamic environment. The role oversees AP/AR, GL, payroll, month-end close, internal controls, and collaboration with auditors and leadership on budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance is required.
• CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and ERP familiarity.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and corporate tax guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Establish, monitor, and enforce internal accounting controls and policies to protect company assets.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and ensure prompt gathering of compliance data.
• Collaborate with leadership to assemble annual operating budgets, forecasts, and capital allocation models.
• Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate junior accounting staff, optimizing departmental workflow and efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a highly relevant business discipline.
• Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is strongly preferred.
• Experience: 5 to 7+ years of progressive professional accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and deep familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Compliance Knowledge: Thorough, practical understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and corporate tax guidelines.
