Job summary

InvestEd in Makati, Philippines, is seeking an Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the books, timely financial reporting, and compliance with statutory requirements. The role is hands-on and involves core accounting activities, financial reporting, controls, and supervising the Finance team.

You will oversee month-end close, cash visibility, budgeting support, and interactions with external auditors.

Qualifications

  • CPA certification is required.
  • At least 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Minimum 2 years supervising a finance team.
  • Strong knowledge of PFRS, IFRS, Philippine tax requirements.
  • Experience with external audits and statutory schedules.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and supervise day-to-day accounting activities, including bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, disbursements, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure payments and financial transactions are properly supported, authorized, recorded, classified, and reconciled on time.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date accounting records, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies, unreconciled items, and transaction-recording issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate and timely Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and supporting schedules in accordance with established reporting deadlines.
  • Perform and coordinate month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, adjustments, and investigation of material accounting variances or discrepancies.
  • Implement and maintain established financial controls, accounting policies, procedures, approval processes, and audit trails.
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with applicable tax, statutory, regulatory, lender, and audit requirements, including preparation and coordination of required schedules and supporting documents.
  • Identify material control gaps, compliance issues, or financial-record risks and elevate them promptly to management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting of the company's cash position, cash movements, financial obligations, and short-term liquidity requirements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and variance analysis by providing accurate financial data, schedules, and accounting inputs to management.
  • Supervise the day-to-day work of the Finance team and ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting, reconciliation, disbursement, reporting, and compliance activities.
  • Review team output for accuracy and completeness, provide technical guidance, and ensure critical Finance processes are documented and supported by appropriate backup coverage.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's books, timely financial reporting and close, compliance with financial and statutory requirements, reliable cash visibility, and disciplined execution of day-to-day Finance operations.

The role is hands-on and includes responsibility for core accounting activities, financial reporting, controls and compliance, cash reporting, planning support, and supervision of the Finance team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Operations & Accounting
  • Perform and supervise day-to-day accounting activities, including bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, disbursements, and bank reconciliations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience, including hands-on experience in month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and statutory compliance.
  • At least 2 years of experience supervising an accounting or Finance team is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of PFRS, IFRS, Philippine tax requirements, and applicable regulatory and accounting standards.
  • Hands-on experience supporting external audits, tax compliance, and preparation of audit and statutory schedules.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems, such as Zero Books or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and supervisory skills, with a high degree of accuracy, integrity, and accountability.
