Job summary

Northstar Shipping and Marine Services Inc. seeks an Accounting Manager to supervise and manage the Accounting Department (AP, AR, Payroll, and General Ledger) across vessels and operations.

You will prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, monitor cash flow and vessel costs, and coordinate with auditors to ensure compliance with BIR, SEC, and other government reporting. This role supports budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis for management

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the Accounting Department (AP, AR, Payroll, and General Ledger)
• Prepare and review financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
• Ensure timely submission of BIR, SEC, and other government compliance reports
• Monitor vessel-related expenses such as fuel, port charges, maintenance, and crew costs
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for shipping operations
• Reconcile bank accounts and intercompany transactions
• Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits
• Implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Monitor cash flow and financial performance of vessels and operations
• Provide financial analysis and reports to management for decision-making
