Job summary

Aprio, a Top 20 CPA and advisory firm, seeks an Accountant to handle weekly and monthly client accounting tasks in a hybrid environment in the Philippines. You will pull reports, verify journal entries, and perform reconciliations while coordinating with Senior Accountants and Managers.

You will also process payroll, maintain ledgers, and assist in 1099 season. Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking are essential in this fast-paced, client-facing role.

Qualifications

• A degree in accounting is required.
• Holding a CPA license is advantageous.
• Minimum of 2 years in the BPO industry.
• Previous accounts payable and/or bookkeeping experience is advantageous.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Factura and Bill.com is advantageous.
• Preference for candidates with experience working with Restaurant Franchisees, and Hospitality clients.
• Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to thrive in a hybrid team setting, adept at using Teams and email to collaborate with colleagues.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address technical and interpersonal challenges effectively.
• Proven ability to manage multiple clients successfully.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing client needs and business requirements.

Responsibilities

• The Accountant is responsible for the weekly and monthly accounting tasks of the clients that have been assigned to the team.
• Pull reports needed for monthly work from various websites as needed.
• Verify and adjust system generated journal entries in accordance with client specific treatments.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Import of the bank/cc transactions via manual feed.
• Coding of bank and cc transactions.
• Reach out to the Senior Accountant for any open items to be sent to the US Reviewers.
• Read and interpret payroll reports, record payroll entries in accounting system, posting amounts to salaries/labor, federal and state tax expense and withholding liability accounts
• Monthly, the accountant is responsible for reconciling the balance sheet and revenue accounts, updating workpapers, and posting closing entries in the accounting system.
• Assist the Senior Accountant in attending to the Manager/Project Manager/Client’s requests, questions, concerns, or issues.
• Helps with the preparation of process documents and works together with the Senior Accountant/Manager on process improvements.
• Assumes the responsibility in the absence of the Senior Accountant.
• Helps in the preparation and filing during the 1099 season.
• Demonstrate the ability to self-review work, maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and build Excel formulas to assist in the review process.
