Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Entry-level experience; foundational accounting knowledge.
• Basic understanding of tax compliance and financial record-keeping.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems.
• CPA pathway or accounting certifications are advantageous but not required.

Hi! We're Smartsourcing, and were looking for an Accounting Associate to join our team full-time and onsite. This is an entry-level role, ideal for candidates with foundational accounting knowledge who are detail-oriented and eager to grow in a structured finance environment.

Your Role as Accounting Associate

As an Accounting Associate, you'll be supporting day-to-day financial operations by ensuring accurate processing, reconciliation, and compliance of financial transactions. This role focuses on expense review, payment reconciliation, account onboarding, and maintaining accurate financial records in line with tax regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Review submitted business expenses for accuracy and eligibility.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax and regulatory guidelines.
• Identify discrepancies and elevate issues when necessary.

Payments Reconciliation

• Perform manual payment reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate and complete payment records.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Account Onboarding

• Support client or account onboarding processes.
• Conduct identity verification and account activation.
• Ensure accurate setup and documentation.
• Monitor remittance inbox and review payment confirmations.
• Ensure payments are properly recorded.
• Maintain organized and accurate documentation.

Process & Digital Enablement

• Use approved digital tools and systems in compliance with data privacy and security policies.
• Maintain baseline AI and digital literacy relevant to the role.
• Participate in required trainings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation or digitization.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Entry-level experience; foundational accounting knowledge required
• Basic understanding of tax compliance and financial record-keeping
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems
• CPA pathway or accounting certifications are an advantage but not required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
