Job summary

Odfjell is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our Offshored Services team in the Philippines. The role requires strong accounting skills and precise, standards-based work output.

You will support the Team Leader Financial Accounts in payables, invoicing, accruals, and monthly closing activities. Key responsibilities include tax filings, preparing budgets and financial statements, intercompany reconciliations, and backup payroll processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accountancy; CPA license preferred.
• Minimum five years experience in general accounting.
• Proficiency in tax regulations and accounting standards.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft tools and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Support payables setup, invoicing, accruals, and prepayments.
• Prepare annual budget and financial statements for Odfjell Philippines Inc.
• Encode entries into the accounting system; prepare monthly reports.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and assist in closing books.
• Back up crew payroll process and prepare expat salary with other currency reimbursements.
• Monitor crew advances and manage monthly billing for Odfjell companies.
• Maintain orderly filing of corporate documents (billing, tax returns).
• Aide the Team Leader Financial Accounts in decision-making.
