We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to support Australian clients within Tax and Business Services. This role involves providing assistance in accounting, payroll, taxation, and compliance functions while ensuring accuracy and adherence to Australian standards and local regulatory requirements. The position requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage both accounting and administrative responsibilities effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, schedules, and working papers
Perform bookkeeping and journal entries with a high level of accuracy
Support payroll processing, including monitoring timesheets and leave records
Assist with Australian tax compliance tasks, including BAS and IAS
Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, including BIR, SEC, and LGU filings
Generate and issue invoices; monitor payments and follow up as necessary
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and accounting documentation
Utilize accounting systems such as APS, MYOB, and Xero
Perform general administrative accounting tasks as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or a related field
At least 6 months to 1 year of payroll experience (required)
Relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, payroll, or compliance
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (BIR, SEC, LGU)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Xero (experience with APS and MYOB is an advantage)
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines effectively
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Work Setup:
Onsite work arrangement
Working hours: 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM
