Job summary

University of the Philippines-Diliman - Government seeks an electrician to plan, install, and maintain electrical systems for building construction and equipment repair. The role involves supervising helpers and coordinating maintenance of power lines and fixtures.

The incumbent will inspect electrical systems, maintain records, prepare cost estimates, and assist with procurements to ensure reliable operation of facilities. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Plans, installs, and maintains all phases of electrical work relating to building construction and equipment repair
• Supervise, coordinate, and assign helpers engaged in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of power line, electrical system fixtures, apparatus, and appliances in the institute/unit
• Install and maintains control panels, relays, and alarm and detection devices
• Undertake electrical works in the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment
• Conducts periodic inspection of all the electrical system fixtures, apparatus and appliances in the institute/unit
• Maintains appropriate maintenance records and files in relation with the electrical system of the unit
• Prepare recommendations if outside repair of electrical wiring/system is needed
• Assists with ordering and/or purchasing supply parts for the Institute/unit to maintain adequate inventory needs
• Develop material and equipment cost estimate for building construction and/or electrical wiring/system repair
• Maintains tools and equipment in relation to the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of the power lines, and electrical system fixtures of the institute/unit
• Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor
