Job summary

Linxon in Makati City, Philippines invites applications for an Accountant role focused on project accounting within the substations engineering context. The successful candidate will maintain ledgers, process journal entries, handle invoicing, and perform monthly reconciliations, tax compliance, and reporting under the supervision of the Business Controller.

CPA preferred, 3+ years’ experience in construction/engineering accounting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's in accounting and finance or similar qualification.
• CPA preferred and an added advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience as a project accountant.
• Experience in the construction or engineering industry is an advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Extensive FS preparation, consolidation of data, and analysis of GL accounts.
• Excellent communication skills and able to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and attends to project site and facility office accounting concerns.
• Maintains general ledger accounts and prepares monthly journal entries.
• Timely submission of client invoices with supporting documents.
• Manages petty cash funds with proper recording and approvals.
• Monthly reconciliation of outstanding receivables.
• Monitoring of monthly tax compliance.
• Assists in preparing monthly reporting and audit requirements.
• Records and maintains schedules for prepayments, accruals, provisions, rent and other expenses with adjusting entries.
• Prepares analysis and reports on project costs as required by management.
• Prepares related parties' invoices and reconciles their balances.
• Prepares bank reconciliations for all accounts and corporate cards.
• Prepares supplier payments with clear reconciliation statements.
• Reviews and records AR/AP transactions.
• Maintains digital and physical financial records.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Business Controller.

What will you do?

• Monitors and attends to project site and facility office accounting concerns.
• Maintains general ledger accounts and prepare monthly journal entries.
• Timely submission of client invoices with all the required supporting documents.
• Manages the petty cash funds, ensure cash receipts are properly recorded with authorized approval.
• Monthly reconciliation of outstanding receivables.
• Monitoring of monthly tax compliance.
• Assists in preparing monthly reporting and audit requirement.
• Records and maintains schedules for all prepayments, accruals, provisions, monthly rent & other expenses and make necessary adjusting entries.
• Prepares analysis and reports as per management requirements on project costs.
• Prepares related parties' invoices and reconciling their balance.
• Prepares bank reconciliation for all the accounts and corporate credit cards.
• Prepares suppliers payments on time with clear reconciliation statements.
• Reviews and Recording of Accounts Receivable and payable transaction.
• Maintains assigned digital and physical financial records.
• Performs other related task assigned by the Business Controller

Experience, Education and other Required:

• Master's in accounting and finance or similar qualification. Certified Public Accountant ( CPA) preferred and an added advantage.
• Should have at least 3-year experience as a project accountant, or similar. Work experience in the construction or engineering industry is an advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Should have extensive experience in FS preparation, consolidation of data, and analysis of different GL accounts.
• Excellent communication skills toward effective collaboration and client services.
• Able to work with tight deadline.

Competencies/ Skills Required:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of best practices in accounting.
• Knowledgeable in MS Office 365 - Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Outlook.
• Working knowledge on ERP systems such as Oracle or ACCPAC.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
• Excellent communicator by delivering directions from top down to the rest of organization.
• Willingness to deliver ad hoc tasks as and when required.
