Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS or local accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records (journal entries, ledgers, reconciliations).
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and on time.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger statements monthly.
• Assist in preparing financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow).
• Monitor project costs related to construction and development activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Assist with the audit process by gathering documentation.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

About the role

Brilliance Construction and Development Corporation is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our team in Pasay City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting that supports strategic decision-making across the construction and development sector. This position is essential to our finance department and directly contributes to the company's operational success and stakeholder confidence.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, ledger accounts, and reconciliations
2. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
3. Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
4. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
5. Monitor and track project costs and expenses relevant to construction and development activities
6. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and internal policies and procedures
7. Assist with the audit process by gathering and organising required documentation
8. Support the finance team with month-end and year-end closing procedures
9. Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records and documentation
10. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and data

What we are looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2. Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable
3. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices (IFRS or local accounting standards)
5. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
6. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
8. Solid understanding of financial statements and their components
9. Experience in the construction or development industry is preferred but not essential
10. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
11. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
12. Knowledge of tax compliance and reporting requirements
