The Head of Accounting holds the main responsibility for supervising the financial operations and reporting of our organization. The chosen candidate will have a crucial role in leading the accounting team, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations, and furnishing precise and timely financial information to facilitate decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Compile and assess financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Guarantee the precision, entirety, and adherence of financial reports to applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and regulatory guidelines.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Work in conjunction with department heads and senior management to formulate annual budgets and financial projections. Track budget performance, analyze discrepancies, and offer recommendations to optimize financial resources and attain organizational objectives.
• General Ledger Management: Supervise the upkeep of the general ledger, ensuring the accurate recording of financial transactions, proper categorization, and adherence to accounting principles. Review and authorize journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Internal Controls and Compliance: Establish and enforce internal control measures to protect assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations. Periodically conduct audits and assessments to identify control weaknesses and implement corrective actions.
• Financial Analysis: Evaluate financial data and performance metrics to evaluate the financial well-being of the organization, detect trends, and furnish insights to support strategic decision-making. Prepare financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Taxation and Audit: Collaborate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies to facilitate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements. Guarantee the timely and accurate submission of tax returns, financial reports, and other statutory filings.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead and guide the accounting team, including setting performance goals, conducting evaluations, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Promote a collaborative and efficient working atmosphere.
• Process Improvement: Recognize opportunities to streamline accounting procedures, boost efficiency, and enhance accuracy. Implement and oversee effective financial controls, systems, and procedures. Utilize technology solutions to automate routine tasks and reporting.
• Cash Management: Supervise cash flow planning and management, including overseeing receivables and payables, optimizing working capital, and managing banking relationships. Ensure adequate liquidity and funding for operational requirements.
• Financial Policies and Procedures: Develop and revise financial policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements. Communicate and enforce compliance with financial policies throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent are preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting and financial management, with a focus on financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
