CROSSWORLD MARINE SERVICES INC. is seeking a 2nd Engineer (Panamax/ Handy) for worldwide bulk carrier operations. You will oversee main propulsion, monitor engines, and lead a small team in engine room duties on a 24/7 watch schedule.

The role requires at least 18 months in the 2nd Engineer position, experience with ME, MC, and Wärtsila RT Flex engines, and valid documents. Salary is negotiable with benefits including job employment and HMO.

Qualifications

• At least 18 months of experience as 2nd engineer.
• With or without valid US visa.
• Holding valid documents.
• Experience with ME, MC and Wärtsila RT Flex engines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate main engine and related systems.
• Plan and assign daily engine room work for crew.
• Maintain lifeboats, emergency generators and fire pumps.
• Ensure MARPOL compliance and manage oily water treatment.
• Stand engine room watches (04:00–08:00, 16:00–20:00).
• Track parts usage and coordinate orders for repairs.

Job Description

• Main Propulsion: Directly responsible for the maintenance and operation of the main engine and its associated systems (fuel, lubrication, cooling).
• Personnel Management: Plans and assigns daily work schedules for the 3rd and 4th Engineers, Motormen, and Oilers. They ensure all engine room staff follow safety protocols.
• Emergency Equipment: Often specifically tasked with the maintenance of lifeboats, emergency generators, and fire pumps to ensure they are ready for immediate use.
• Safety & Environment: Ensures the engine room stays clean and compliant with MARPOL (pollution prevention). They supervise the treatment of oily water and sewage.
• Watchkeeping: Typically stands the 04:00–08:00 and 16:00–20:00 engine room watches, monitoring machinery performance and responding to alarms.
• Spare Parts & Inventory: Tracks the usage of engine parts and tools, notifying the Chief Engineer when supplies need to be ordered for upcoming repairs.

Skills and Qualifications:
