Job Description
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for technical management, design development, and on-site support of electrical systems in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. The role involves leading shop drawing (SI) preparation, design adjustments, and change management, ensuring compliance with technical standards, project schedules, and quality requirements. The candidate will conduct regular site inspections and coordinate closely with design consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of electrical systems, including HV/LV distribution, lighting, earthing & lightning protection, power control, fire alarm, and intelligent building systems;
- Conduct on-site inspections and field verifications, and produce detailed Shop Drawings (SI) based on actual site conditions to ensure constructability;
- Lead design revisions, optimizations, and engineering change management, providing timely technical solutions during construction;
- Collaborate with design consultants to review and coordinate electrical construction drawings, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements;
- Conduct technical briefings with general contractors, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers; supervise construction quality and resolve field technical issues;
- Support equipment selection, specification writing, and tender evaluation;
- Coordinate interdisciplinary interfaces (structural, HVAC, plumbing) to ensure system integration and construction coordination;
- Review technical submittals, test procedures, and commissioning reports from contractors; participate in system testing and handover;
- Stay updated on national and international codes (e.g., GB, IEC, NEC) and promote the use of energy-efficient and innovative technologies;
- Prepare technical reports, meeting minutes, and engineering documentation to ensure proper record keeping.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Building Services, or a related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electrical design, construction management, or project engineering;
- Experience in large-scale building, industrial, infrastructure, or EPC projects is preferred;
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software; BIM experience is a plus;
- Strong understanding of electrical standards (GB) and familiarity with international codes (IEC, NEC, etc.);
- Proven ability to produce and review shop drawings (SI) and manage design modifications;
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong field experience;
- Strong communication and coordination skills to effectively manage consultants, contractors, and stakeholders;
- Registered Electrical Engineer (Power Distribution) is preferred but not required;
- Willingness to travel and work on-site as required;
