Job summary

Machu Travel Peru, a premier inbound travel agency in Cusco, is seeking Travel Designers to craft personalized journeys for discerning international travelers. You will blend your passion for travel with destination expertise to design unique itineraries and provide top-tier advisory service.

This role requires strong English, a solid general knowledge, and close collaboration with operations to ensure flawless logistics.

Qualifications

• University degree preferably from an English-speaking institution.
• Advanced or native-level English (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of history, geography, politics, and international current affairs.
• Knowledge of Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia destinations.
• Currently residing in Cusco.
• Minimum one-year commitment to the project.
• Genuine passion for travel, adventure tourism, hiking and outdoor exploration.
• Outstanding academic or professional background.

Responsibilities

• Design and structure unique, personalized travel itineraries according to client expectations and requirements.
• Quote and close sales of tourism services in Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia.
• Provide ongoing assistance and be the passenger's trusted point of contact throughout their journey.
• Coordinate with operations and reservations to ensure flawless logistics.
• Conduct pre-trip briefings to ensure confidence and clarity for travelers.
• Collaborate with other advisors to achieve sales goals.
• Work a 48-hour week with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Machu Travel Peru is one of the country’s most prestigious and well-established inbound tourism agencies, specializing in designing tailor-made experiences for discerning international travelers. To strengthen our team in Cusco, we are looking for creative, results-oriented Travel Designers (Travel Advisors) with a solid and well-rounded educational background.

We are looking for professionals who combine commercial talent with a deep general knowledge, capable of connecting intellectually and emotionally with our passengers from the very first contact.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Design and consulting: Plan and structure unique and personalized travel itineraries according to each client’s expectations and requirements.
• Sales management: Quote and close sales of high-quality tourism services in the destinations of Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia where we operate.
• Ongoing assistance and support: Act as the passengers’ trusted point of contact (the hero) throughout their journey, providing timely assistance in the event of any unforeseen circumstances.
• Comprehensive coordination: Work closely with the operations and reservations departments to ensure that every logistical detail is executed perfectly.
• Welcome meetings: Conduct pre-trip information sessions (briefings) with travelers to ensure that they begin their experience with complete confidence and clarity.
• Teamwork: Actively collaborate with other advisors to achieve the agency’s sales goals.
• Schedule: 48 hours per week, with availability to work flexible rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays according to tourism demand.

Requirements we value:

• Hold a university degree (or higher education) preferably from an English-speaking institution.

Compensation

• Commission-based compensation structure, with estimated earning potential between $25,000 and $40,000 per year, driven directly by your performance and the peak tourism seasons.
