IBM Consulting is seeking a Technical Consultant - Threat Detection Response & Intelligence to safeguard digital infrastructure by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats. You will monitor security events, correlate alerts, and perform deep investigations across diverse data sources, collaborating to tune SIEM/XDR platforms and escalate incidents as needed.

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Technical Consultant: Threat Detection Response & Intelligence, you play a vital role in safeguarding an organization's digital infrastructure by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats. This position involves using a variety of cybersecurity tools to monitor, prioritize, investigate, and respond to security incidents. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Performadvanced analysis of security events and logsacross multiple data sources.
Correlate events, conductdeep log reviews, analyze alerts, and validatetrue positives vs. false positives.
Executeincident triage, classification, and prioritization based on risk and impact.
Conductadvanced root cause analysis (RCA)to identify how incidents originated and evolved.
AnalyzeIOCs and threat vectors, supporting detection and investigation activities.
Applythreat intelligence feedsto enhance analysis for specific clients and industries.
Identify and interpretsignals of exploitation, vulnerabilities, and security gaps.
Collaborate with team members totune and optimize SIEM/XDR platforms.
Manage technical communication and incident escalation in accordance with defined procedures.

Solid understanding ofMITRE ATT&CK framework.
Ability to recognizeexploitation techniques, vulnerabilities, and security control gaps.
Strongtechnical communication skillsand experience handlingincident escalation.
Team-oriented mindset with experience collaborating onSIEM/XDR tuning and optimization.
Preferred technical and professional experience
Knowledge ofWindows and Linux operating systems.
Experience withthreat intelligence and threat huntingactivities.
Knowledge of designing and improving security use cases and correlation logic.
