Job summary

FullStack Labs, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our talent network and work on US-based client projects from Peru.

You will integrate into client teams and contribute to design, development and delivery of backend services using Laravel, PHP and Go microservices. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of backend experience, advanced English, a four-year degree, and a track record of building scalable systems.

• Has developed, deployed, and maintained core monolithic backends using Laravel and PHP.

The Opportunity

You will integrate directly into our client's team and work alongside their existing designers and engineers on a daily basis.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
• Advanced English is required.
• Successful completion of a four-year college degree is required.
• Has developed, deployed, and maintained core monolithic backends using Laravel and PHP.
• Has extracted monolithic application logic and rewritten it into Go Microservices.
• Has scaled backend infrastructure to handle high-traffic product launches and high-concurrency user loads.
• Has executed on-call engineering rotation duties with strict acknowledgment SLAs (e.g., 15 minutes).
• Familiarity with building or supporting payments, redemptions, or fraud prevention pipelines is a nice to have.
• Previous exposure to frontend or mobile stacks such as Next.js or React Native is a nice to have.
• Experience using AI coding assistants like Claude Code or Cursor in your daily workflow is a nice to have.
• Availability to work standard business hours aligned with the Pacific Time (PT) zone.
• Ability to work through new and difficult issues and contribute to libraries as needed.
• Ability to create and maintain continuous integration and delivery of applications.
• Forensic attention to detail.
• A positive mindset and a can-do attitude.
• Experience working on Agile/Scrum teams.
• Meaningful experience working on large, complex systems.
