The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Analyst to support our Legal Team in Lima, Peru. The role focuses on providing analytical legal support for operational plans and projects, with reporting to the Legal Senior Manager.

The candidate will draft contracts, manage signing processes, and maintain institutional legal repositories, ensuring compliance with national and international laws. Excellent English and Spanish skills are required.

Formación

• Professional title (Abogado) and active bar membership/Colegiatura (CAL or regional equivalent) is a plus / optional.
• Specialization in contracts law-Logistics (desired).
• At least 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in similar legal position.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience in international organizations or NGOs is preferred.
• Advanced qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
• Familiarity with Peruvian legal procedures and international agreements (desired).
• Knowledge of intellectual property law applicable to science and development (desired).
• Fluent in Spanish.
• Advanced level in English (written and oral) required; C1 or higher.

Responsabilidades

• Support first-level analysis of legal documents to guarantee results are accurate and complete.
• Draft contracts, endorsements, non-disclosure agreements, and legal letters based on templates.
• Coordinate and manage the signing process of legal documents/contracts and filing.
• Design and own monitoring tools for deadlines, signatures, and compliance tracking.
• Organize, centralize, and archive legal documentation according to procedures.
• Prepare legal documentation, reports, and correspondence.
• Coordinate and respond to ad hoc and recurring requests from internal and external stakeholders.
• Obtain and consolidate information from various sources to support legal analysis across units.
• Serve as the primary owner of legal intake, ticket registration, and workload tracking.

About the role:

Thesuccessful candidatewillprovideanalytical legal support to the operational plans/ projects to contribute with the Unit´s goals.The LegalAnalystwillreportto theLegal SeniorManager andwill be basedin Lima, Peru.

Key responsibilities:

• Support first-level analysis of legal documents ( Host Country Agreements , Collaboration Agreements , contracts, and agreements with third partiesin general ) to guarantee results areaccurateand complete.
• Draft contracts, endorsements, non-disclosure agreements, and legal letters based on pre-existing templates and precedents.
• Coordinate and manage the signing process of legal documents/contracts, ensuringtimelyfollow-up and filing in electronic and physical archives.
• Design and own monitoring tools for deadlines, signatures, and compliance tracking, directing their day-to-day maintenance and updates (including by the Legal Intern, if assigned).
• Organize, centralize, and archive legal documentation according to institutional procedures.
• Prepare legal documentation, reports, and correspondence according to methodologiesestablishedby the Unit.
• Coordinate and respond to ad hoc and recurring requests from internal and external stakeholders (operational units, researchunitsand public/private institutions).
• Obtain and consolidate information from various sources to support legal analysis across business units.
• Serve as the primary owner of legal intake, ticket registration, workload tracking, and reporting, ensuring appropriate escalation and allocation within the Legal Services Unit, with data-entry and tracking support from the Legal Intern, if assigned.
• Own , update and maintain legal templates, clause libraries, precedents, and institutional legal repositories, directing organizational support from the Legal Intern, if assigned.
• Use institutional systems (e.g., OCS, SharePoint, AdobeSign , or other CIP platforms) for document management and tracking.
• Produce periodic metrics and reports on legal workload, contract turnaround times, pending matters, and service delivery performance.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and task coordination to the Legal Intern, if assigned.
• Comply , in the performance of assigned tasks, with applicable national and international laws, regulations, and standards, including health and safety requirements.
