Insight Global is seeking a Consumer Electronics Industrial Designer for a 12-month contract with potential for full-time conversion. This remote role (95%) involves leading industrial design from concept to mass production, requiring over 10 years of expertise, advanced CAD skills, and strong communication abilities. Candidates must possess a robust portfolio demonstrating user-centric design processes and exceptional presentation skills, with an emphasis on teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.

Formación

• Exceptional 2D visualization skills, including sketching, storyboarding, and digital rendering.
• Advanced 3D CAD modeling and visualization skills, capable of developing technically viable and compelling design solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal design teams, cross-functional product development teams, and suppliers.
• A portfolio demonstrating a user-centric design process, showcasing successful products from concept to production.
• Excellent storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate a user-centered design perspective effectively.
• Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM & DFA considerations to ensure efficient and scalable production.

Responsabilidades

• Lead all stages of industrial design development, from concept to mass production.
• Deliver high-quality 2D concepts, quick prototypes, CMF specifications, technical graphics, advanced 3D models with class-A surfacing, and photo-realistic renderings for presentations.
• Take a leadership role in implementing design language and future design strategy.
• Work closely with the CMF design team to deliver a unified vision for color, materials, and finish design.
• Partner with engineers and suppliers to achieve optimal production quality.
• Support engineering teams with mechanical integration, DFM & DFA, and rapid prototyping.
• Sync with designers, engineers, and program managers across different time zones, participating in online meetings and international trips as needed.

Job Description

Our consumer electronic client is seeking two Senior Industrial Designers to join their team. This team has a roadmap for NPI and existing product enhancements over the next year. This role includes participating in weekly early-morning or late-evening online meetings to sync up with design teams, as well as undertaking one to two international trips annually, as needed, to collaborate with suppliers, engineers, and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

-End-to-End Design Development - Lead all stages of industrial design development, from concept to mass production. Deliver high-quality 2D concepts, quick prototypes, CMF specifications, technical graphics, advanced 3D models with class-A surfacing, and photo-realistic renderings for presentations.

-Design Language & Strategy - Take a leadership role in implementing Ring’s design language and future design strategy, ensuring consistency and innovation across hardware products.

-CMF Integration - Work closely with the CMF design team to deliver a unified vision for color, materials, and finish design.

-Engineering Collaboration - Partner with engineers and suppliers to achieve optimal production quality, balancing craftsmanship, cost, and engineering constraints.

-Mechanical Integration & Prototyping - Support engineering teams with mechanical integration, DFM & DFA, and rapid prototyping, ranging from broad design themes to functional-level execution.

-Global Coordination - Sync with designers, engineers, and program managers across different time zones, participating in weekly early morning or late evening online meetings, 1–2 international trips annually.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
