You make sure Fonio's numbers are right and can stand up to auditors and investors. That means owning the monthly and year-end close, and solving tricky questions such as how to account for pay-per-minute revenue across nine markets and more.
As new entities and products launch, you set up the accounting so it scales, rather than patching it later.
In-house accounting: Take over accounting from our external provider and build the internal function.
Operational ownership: Own day-to-day accounting, including AP/AR, reconciliations, master data and bookkeeping.
Monthly close & reporting: Own monthly closing and recurring statutory filings (VAT, ZM, Intrastat, etc.), working closely with our tax advisors.
Revenue recognition: make sure usage-based revenue is recognised correctly and consistently.
Multi-entity: run intercompany accounting, currencies and consolidation as UK and US entities come online, and integrate acquisitions such as fluently.
Controls and policies: write accounting policies and controls that hold up in investor due diligence.
Oversight: keep billing, payables and payroll postings accurate, and improve processes and systems as volume grows.
