Job summary

gu-recruitment is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Wind & HV Substation) to lead electrical design governance for utility-scale wind projects. You will define standards, review HV designs up to 400 kV, coordinate grid connections, and support construction, commissioning and COD readiness across the full project lifecycle.

The role requires expert leadership, strong knowledge of wind farm HV interfaces, and experience with EPC/Owner delivery models.

Qualifications

10–15 years of professional electrical experience in power/renewables.
7–10 years in wind energy above 200 MW.
Experience in HV substation design up to 400 kV or above.
Experience with EPC, multi‑contract or Owner‑managed delivery.

Responsibilities

Act as electrical design authority and lead for wind projects from concept to handover.
Define and enforce Owner electrical standards and design philosophies.
Review EPC/OEM electrical designs, studies, specs and calculations.
Oversee primary HV substation construction up to 400 kV and related systems.
Coordinate grid connection activities and utility/TSO interfaces.
Support procurement, testing, energisation and COD readiness.
Contribute to risk management and contract discussions.
Assist O&M/Asset teams post‑COD with performance optimization.
