Job summary

Amentum seeks a Vehicle Inspector to oversee daily quality control of all vehicle repairs, ensuring maintenance aligns with USAF TO requirements and the PWS. You will monitor technician performance, document rework, and report deficiencies to the Chief Mechanic.

The role includes mentoring mechanics, inspecting work for air/land/sea readiness, handling hazardous materials per SOPs, and maintaining accurate work orders and parts requests. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

Excellent organizational skills and English proficiency.
Valid driver's license and host nation license eligibility.
Experience with vehicle repair and USAF equipment.
Two years in a Quality Control capacity and mentoring.
Able to lift 50 lbs and travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Inspect all vehicle repairs to ensure Quality Control is maintained at the highest level.
Monitor quality of work performed by technicians and document rejected repairs.
Ensure safety practices and housekeeping guidelines are maintained to the highest standard.
Conduct impromptu toolbox inspections for accountability of tools.
Inform the Chief Mechanic of any deficiencies noted.
Perform Limited Technical Inspections on assigned vehicles and determine causes of malfunctions and need for parts.
Assist with on-the-job training of new mechanics; provide knowledge and certify training.
Assist mechanics with repairs or replacement of parts and systems including transmissions, steering and braking, and other assemblies.
Troubleshoot and calibrate vehicle systems using diagrams, manuals, tools and test equipment.
