Job summary

Tawteen is seeking a senior professional to lead transmission operations and maintenance strategy, budgeting, and regulatory compliance. You will guide asset management, oversee maintenance plans, and drive continuous improvements across the transmission network.

The role requires extensive experience in electricity transmission, strong leadership, and ability to coordinate with regional managers to ensure safety, reliability, and cost efficiency across the grid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Master's degree in Electrical Power Systems, Engineering Management or MBA preferred.
• 11+ years of experience in electricity transmission and at least 4 years in a managerial role.

Responsibilities

• Provide input on functional strategies for transmission operations and maintenance within asset management.
• Develop and supervise maintenance operating plans to ensure reliable transmission infrastructure.
• Monitor network parameters and equipment condition with regional managers to maintain safety and reliability.
• Oversee budgets for transmission operations and maintenance and manage OPEX and CAPEX reporting.
• Propose policies and SOPs for power transmission operations and ensure adherence to these frameworks.
• Direct development of equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate outsourcing as needed.
• Lead regulatory compliance efforts and prepare responses for audits related to transmission maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Strategy

• Provide critical input on functional strategies for transmission operations and maintenance to ensure long-term and short-term requirements are integrated into the broader asset management strategy
• Contribute directly to the achievement of the business s long-term corporate goals and overall business objectives
• Maintain a competitive edge by continuously scanning the market to identify emerging trends and developments within the power industry
• Act as a key internal partner by providing value-adding insights and relevant data to support the organization s overarching strategy development

Budgets and MIS

• Propose budgets for transmission operations and maintenance to the COO
• Implement approved annual OPEX and CAPEX programs ensuring all related documents and reports are accurately maintained
• Prepare and review transmission-related MIS reports to monitor performance
• Take proactive corrective actions to ensure minimal budgetary variance throughout the fiscal year
• Highlight and develop formal business cases for any budget deviations or expenditures required for unplanned activities

Policies and Processes

• Propose policies processes systems and standard operating procedures specifically for power transmission operations and maintenance
• Deploy and oversee adherence to these O & M frameworks to ensure all systems are clearly defined and consistently implemented
• Maintain strict personal and departmental adherence to all overarching company policies and procedures at all times

Operations & Maintenance

• Develop and supervise the execution of maintenance operating plans and processes to ensure all transmission infrastructure is run efficiently
• Monitor network parameters and equipment condition alongside Regional Managers to ensure the system remains safe secure and reliable
• Oversee the timely repair of faults and the resolution of transmission-related technical complaints to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
• Manage maintenance activities to ensure the continued integrity of the entire interconnected grid
• Ensure all maintenance performance and system activities are conducted in strict adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards
• Manage the utilization of maintenance resources and equipment to avoid unnecessary downtime and optimize operational costs
• Oversee the reporting of all maintenance-related incidents and equipment status updates on the OETC platform
• Oversee and coordinate all routine preventive and breakdown maintenance activities for the transmission network and its associated equipment
• Direct the development of equipment maintenance schedules to guarantee the long-term reliability and upkeep of the transmission infrastructure
• Identify specific operational or maintenance functions for outsourcing and provide strategic feedback to management
• Participate actively in vendor evaluations and negotiations while continuously monitoring the quality of technical services provided by third parties
• Manage all operation and maintenance O & M contracts and other business-critical agreements related to the transmission sector
• Collaborate with Regional Managers to ensure the timely completion of annual scheduled work orders within CMMS
• Monitor and drive KPIs associated with maintenance execution to ensure departmental targets are met
• Follow up with Regional Managers to ensure the rigorous closeout of reports within the defect management system

Regulatory and compliance

• Direct and manage the department s response to all regulatory requirements and compliance mandates specifically related to transmission maintenance and asset integrity
• Lead the preparation and management of responses for both internal and external audits to ensure the transmission maintenance business adheres to corporate and industry standards
• Ensure that all maintenance practices documentation and reporting protocols align with the statutory obligations governing the power transmission sector
• Oversee the implementation of processes that satisfy the requirements of ISO 55001 ISO 14001 and other relevant technical certifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering, Electric Utility Engineering & ManagementMaster's degree in Electrical Power Systems, Power Engineering, Engineering Management, or MB is preferable
• Professional Experience :A minimum of 11+ years of relevant experience in the electricity transmission sector and/or or related field
• A minimum of 4 years in a Managerial or leadership role.
