Job summary

OQ is seeking a Specialist Electrical for the Oman-Salalah area. You will provide technical support to the Electrical team, troubleshoot equipment, and liaise with vendors for joint electrical maintenance projects.

Responsibilities include technical evaluations, commissioning support, safety adherence, and participation in OJT and document control processes. Strong English and relevant experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Diploma in electrical engineering with strong English communication.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in refinery or petrochemical electrical work.
• Knowledge of IEC standards, ATEX directives, area classification and Ex equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough technical evaluations of electrical spare parts, equipment and materials to determine performance standards and ensure suitability for maintenance requirements.
• Provide specialized electrical support during the commissioning of new projects ensuring integration with existing systems and compliance with project specifications.
• Lead complex troubleshooting of electrical equipment ensuring issues are resolved according to OEM specifications and industry standards.
• Strictly adhere to work permit protocols, LOTO procedures and relevant safety standards during all activities.
• Coordinate with external contractors, vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and effective delivery of electrical maintenance services and related joint works.
• Assist in development and execution of preventive maintenance strategies maintaining reliability of electrical systems.

Bad Actors List amp Mitigation

Participate in meetings to address recurring electrical failures Bad Actors developing mitigation plans and recommending solutions for persistent issues

On-the-Job Training OJT

Collaborate with the OJT program to support the development and refinement of specific electrical maintenance tasks for junior engineers and team members

Document Control

Oversee the usage maintenance and archiving of critical electrical documentation in substations ensuring proper documentation management practices

Vendor amp Supplier Collaboration

Coordinate with external contractors vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and effective delivery of electrical maintenance services and related joint works

Preventive Maintenance Predictive Maintenance amp Equipment Reliability

Assist in the development and execution of preventive maintenance strategies ensuring the operational reliability of electrical systems and equipment

Maintenance procedures

Failure Analysis amp Improvement

Lead investigations into electrical system failures providing recommendations for system improvements and preventive measures to avoid future breakdowns
