Job summary

Green Umbrella Recruitment seeks an experienced O&M Manager in Muscat, Oman to lead contract management and performance for utility-scale power assets. You will oversee O&M/EPC contractors, ensure contract compliance, and coordinate with grid operators across solar, wind, and substations.

The role requires 8–10 years in O&M/asset management with 3–5 years in solar/wind facilities, and a PE license or PMP is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in O&M or asset management of utility-scale assets.
• 3–5 years covering solar and/or wind facilities.
• Experience managing O&M/EPC contractors, LTSAs, and HV assets from Owner perspective.
• Strong PV and wind turbine tech understanding.
• Experience with CMMS/APM software, SCADA platforms, and contract/warranty management systems.
• Professional Engineer license, PMP, or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, negotiate, and finalize O&M contracts, LTSAs, and scopes of work for the Owner.
• Monitor contractor performance against KPIs, SLAs, and availability; apply bonuses/penalties as applicable.
• Perform periodic contract compliance audits and manage renewals, amendments, and close-outs.
• Act as escalation point between Owner and O&M/EPC contractors for disputes.
• Directly manage O&M site engineers, supervisors, and staff across solar, wind, and substations.
• Approve site engineers' maintenance schedules, permits-to-work, and outage plans with grid operators.

Job Description

O&M Contractor & Contract Management

• Review, negotiate, and finalize O&M contracts, Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), and maintenancescopes of work on behalf of the Owner.
• Monitor contractor performance against KPIs, SLAs, availability guarantees, and response-time commitments; apply bonus/penalty(liquidated damages) provisions where applicable.
• Conduct periodic contract compliance audits and manage contract renewals, amendments, and close- outs.
• Act as the primary point of escalation between the Owner and O&M/EPC contractors for technical and commercial disputes.
• Directly manage and supervise O&M site engineers, supervisors, and technical staff across solar, wind, and substation sites.
• Approve site engineers' maintenance schedules, permits-to-work, and outage/switching plans in coordination with grid operators.

Spare Parts, Inventory & Warranty Management

• Oversee procurement, storage, and logistics of spare parts to minimize downtime and avoid overstocking.
• Track equipment warranties (OEM and contractor-provided) and ensure timely warranty claims are filed,followed up, and closed with suppliers/manufacturers.
  

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Engineering (Master's degree or MBA an advantage).

Minimum 8–10 years of experience in O&M or asset management of utility-scale power generation or transmission assets, with at least 3–5 years covering solar and/or wind facilities.

Demonstrated experience managing O&M/EPC contractors, LTSAs, and substation/HV assets from an Owner's perspective.

Strong understanding of PV and wind turbine technology, HV substation equipment, protection systems, and grid codes.

Experience with CMMS/APM software, SCADA platforms, and contract/warranty management systems.

Professional Engineer (PE) license, PMP, or equivalent certification preferred.
