Job summary

Galfar Engg. & Contracting SAOG in Muscat is seeking a Site Civil Engineer to supervise structural works at the construction site.

You will ensure adherence to drawings, schedules, and quality standards while coordinating manpower and equipment and managing daily progress updates. The role requires a Diploma in Civil Engineering with 5–7 years of relevant experience in structural excavation, backfilling, scaffolding, shuttering, reinforcement fixing and concreting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or higher is required.
• Concrete and structural works experience including bridges, culverts, retaining walls and protection works is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute structure works at site as per drawings and schedule.
• Supervise works to ensure compliance with specifications and quality.
• Assign work to manpower and machinery; arrange materials per daily plan.
• Prepare daily programs and report site progress.
• Lead daily meetings with workers to drive productivity and control costs; train on QHSE requirements.
• Track records of site progress as part of daily activity.
• Analyse drawings and consult Sr Engineer for clarifications.
• Measure performance of workers and equipment against company norms.
• Implement and maintain safety standards at work locations.

Job Description

• Responsible for execution of structure works at site as per the drawings as scheduled plan.
• Supervises the works and ensures the works are executed in adherence with the requirement specification and quality.
• Assign works to the skilled and unskilled manpower, machinery and arrange required materials and ensure the availability as per the days plan.
• Preparation of daily programs and updating the site progress as per the Projections and reporting on a daily basis.
• Responsible for conducting meetings with the workers on a daily basis to ensure the required productivity and control the cost train them on QHSE requirements.
• Tracks and maintains the records as per the site progress as a part of daily activity.
• Analysing the drawings and interacts with the Sr Engineer for any clarifications related to the drawings.
• Responsible for measuring the performance of workers and equipment and comparing it with the norms of the organisation.
• Implement and maintain the Safety standards at work locations.
