Job summary

Galfar Engineering and Contracting SAOG in Muscat requires a Civil/Mechanical Engineer with 6–8 years of experience for site supervision and coordination on infrastructure projects.

The role involves planning, QA/QC, liaising with clients and consultants, and ensuring timely material and resource availability at site. Based in Muscat with project-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Approximately 6–8 years of experience in structural excavation, backfilling, scaffolding, shuttering, reinforcement fixing and concreting of RC structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls and protection works.

Responsibilities

• Provide input for preparation of shop drawings and liaise with the engineer for approvals.
• Prepare method statements in line with QA/QC procedures.
• Plan works, coordinate with planning team to align with project schedule and estimate material/resource needs.
• Arrange materials and resources for execution and oversee site work with supervisors.
• Liaise with client/consultant and address technical queries/issues.
• Coordinate with Inspector QC to fulfill inspection & test requirements and ensure records are generated.
• Coordinate with Quantity Surveyor for quantities of work to be carried out.
• Prepare markup and as-built drawings with Supervisors and Draughtsman.
• Assist Storekeeper in receiving inspection of project materials at site.

Job Description

• Provide input for the preparation of shop drawings to the draftsman and liaise with the engineer for the approval process.
• Preparation of method statements for the works to be executed in line with the QA/QC procedures.
• Plan the works, coordinate with the planning team to align with the project schedule and estimate the material and resource requirement for the execution of works at site.
• Responsible for arranging the material and other resource for execution of works as planned and oversee the site execution in coordination with the supervisors.
• Liaise with Client/Consultant and address technical queries/issues.
• Coordinate with the Inspector QC for fulfilling the inspection & test requirements of the project and ensure inspection / test records, as applicable, are generated,
• Coordinate with the Quantity Surveyor for providing the quantities of work to be carries out.
• Prepare markup and as built drawings in coordination with the Supervisors and the Draughtsman respectively.
• Assist the Storekeeper in receiving inspection of all the project materials directly delivered to site.
