Job summary

Techno Gears Industries in Oman is seeking an experienced procurement professional to manage end-to-end sourcing, issue RFQs, evaluate quotations and issue purchase orders for structural steel, plates, pipes and related items.

You will coordinate with Engineering, Production, QA/QC and Project teams to ensure timely delivery, maintain supplier databases, monitor pricing, and drive cost-saving opportunities while ensuring compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process purchase requisitions from various departments.
• Identify, evaluate and develop new suppliers and vendors.
• Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs).
• Obtain and compare competitive supplier quotations.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Prepare comparative statements for management approval.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders.
• Procure structural steel, plates, pipes, flanges, bolts and welding consumables.
• Source machinery, equipment, tools and project-related materials.
• Identify and negotiate with subcontractors and service providers.
• Ensure materials comply with approved technical specifications.
• Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, QA/QC and Project departments.
• Coordinate transportation and logistics of purchased materials.
• Monitor material availability and coordinate with Stores.
• Conduct market research and monitor material price fluctuations.
• Develop alternative suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Maintain supplier databases and procurement records.
• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Coordinate with Finance for supplier payments.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality and delivery commitments.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Prepare weekly procurement and pending material status reports.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
• Ensure timely procurement of materials as per project execution schedules.
