Job summary

Confidential, a leading construction company in Oman, is seeking a Procurement Engineer to manage end-to-end procurement of civil, mechanical, electrical, and MEP materials. SAP experience is mandatory to create PRs/POs, evaluate supplier quotes, and report procurement metrics.

You will coordinate with project teams and ensure timely material availability while maintaining compliance with budgets, quality standards, and company policies. Proficiency in SAP MM is essential.

Responsibilities

A leading construction company in Oman is hiring a Procurement Engineer for its division. The role involves managing end-to-end procurement of civil materials and subcontract packages, with mandatory SAP experience.

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for civil, mechanical, electrical, and MEP materials.
• Create and process purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders (POs) using SAP.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, prepare comparison statements, and negotiate competitive prices.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, storekeepers, and finance teams to ensure timely material availability.
• Source materials such as cement, steel, piping, plumbing materials, HVAC equipment, electrical cables, lighting, and related construction supplies.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding order confirmations, delivery schedules, and material availability.
• Maintain vendor records, pricing details, purchase orders, and procurement reports in SAP.
• Monitor delivery schedules and resolve procurement-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, approved budgets, and quality requirements.
• Support invoice verification, goods receipt coordination, and procurement documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

• Degree or diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, MEP, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in procurement for civil construction, MEP, or related engineering projects.
• Hands-on SAP experience is mandatory, particularly in purchase requisitions, purchase orders, vendor records, and procurement reporting.
• Good knowledge of supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, negotiation, and material planning.
• Strong communication, coordination, and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement documentation.
• Knowledge of SAP MM (Materials Management) is Mandatory.
