Job summary

Vanderlande Industries GmbH in Muscat is seeking a motivated worker to join our materials handling team. The role involves operating the Manual Encode Station, maintaining system cleanliness, and assisting with bag sortation and area checks.

You will respond to dispatch calls promptly, follow control room instructions, and comply with all safety procedures, PPE use, and shift schedules (4 days on / 4 days off, nights and weekends). Training provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School is required with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Handle the physical activities under loads stress.
• Ability to maintain overview in hectic environment.
• Perform simple mechanical corrective problem solving.
• Able to communicate in English, Reading, Writing and speaking.
• Basic Computer skills.
• General knowledge of conveyor systems.
• Ability to be flexible and shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs.
• Valid driving license, where required by site operations.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in basic English.
• Able to lift 25 KGs of bags and materials.
• Flexible attitude and willingness to work in different BHS areas as operationally required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of system, providing cleaning including but not limited to sweeping, housekeeping, collecting trash, cleaning dust and debris and general housekeeping of area around the system
• Responsible for operations of Manual Encode Station
• Monitor the manual encoding station to manual scan bags that have been held by the system due to size or jams.
• Responding in a timely manner to dispatched calls
• Demonstrate good mechanical aptitude and comprehensive skills
• Follow instructions from control room operators and shift leaders.
• Sortation of NO BSM’s bag
• Sortation of NO read Bags
• Sortation of Bags Airline wise.
• Sortation of Tag less Bags
• Refilling of Tubs at MES station including Tubs transfer
• Perform Area Checks Regularly
• Handover of OOG Bags or other Bags based on the shift leader call to GH.
• Following the company SOPs and always present a better practice
• Comply with all company policies, airport regulations, BHS operating procedures, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
• Use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently.
• Shift work – 4 days on / 4 days off rotation, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
