Job summary

Galfar Engg. & Contracting SAOG is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for our Units Infrastructure team in Muscat. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and supervising road and utility works at site, ensuring QA/QC compliance and timely execution.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and has 6–8 years of onsite experience, especially in road-related construction. Onsite responsibilities include liaising with clients and inspectors and coordinating with planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 6–8 years onsite experience in road excavation, backfilling, sub base, pavements, road furniture, utility works, riprap/gabion protection, drainage channels.

Responsibilities

• Provide input for shop drawings and liaise with engineers for approval.
• Prepare method statements in line with QA/QC procedures.
• Plan works, coordinate with planning team to align with project schedule and estimate materials/resources.
• Arrange materials and resources for site execution and oversee on-site work with Supervisors.
• Liaise with Client/Consultant to address technical queries/issues.
• Coordinate with QC Inspector to fulfill inspection/test requirements and generate records.
• Coordinate with Quantity Surveyor for quantities of work.
• Prepare markup and as-built drawings with Draughtsman.
• Assist Storekeeper with receiving inspections of project materials.

Job Description

• Provide input for the preparation of shop drawings to the draftsman and liaise with the engineer for the approval process.
• Preparation of method statements for the works to be executed in line with the QA/QC procedures.
• Plan the works, coordinate with the planning team to align with the project schedule and estimate the material and resource requirement for the execution of works at site.
• Responsible for arranging the material and other resource for execution of works as planned and oversee the site execution in coordination with the supervisors.
• Liaise with Client/Consultant and address technical queries/issues.
• Coordinate with the Inspector QC for fulfilling the inspection & test requirements of the project and ensure inspection / test records, as applicable, are generated,
• Coordinate with the Quantity Surveyor for providing the quantities of work to be carries out.
• Prepare markup and as built drawings in coordination with the Supervisors and the Draughtsman respectively.
• Assist the Storekeeper in receiving inspection of all the project materials directly delivered to site.
