Job summary

Acwa Power in Oman is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance on plant electrical equipment, coordinating with Section Head and planning engineer. You will oversee work orders in the CMMS (SAP), report on progress, and ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and quality systems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 4–8 years’ experience (10 years preferred), knowledge of hazard and aspect impact

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering required.
• 4–8 years of related experience preferred.
• 10 years of related experience preferred.
• Awareness of Quality, OH&S and Environment management system principles.
• Knowledge of applicable legal requirements.
• Hazard risk and aspect impact assessment familiarity.
• Investigating skills and waste/emission knowledge.
• Ability to lead a maintenance group and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and supervises preventive and corrective maintenance work.

• Supports maintenance manager with scheduled maintenance planning.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and ensure spares availability.

Job Summary

Works under the direction of Section Head to plan & supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance, monthly /annual outage and overhauling work activities on plant Electrical equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assigns preventive and corrective maintenance jobs as per the direction of Section Head. Supervises and co-ordinates activities of maintenance staff. Maintains records, prepares reports and composes correspondence related to work.
• Executes work order through CMMS (SAP) and co-ordinates with planning engineer for job completion and technical matters.
• Maintain such communications and relations as are necessary to report on the status of matters requiring action and to ensure that corrective action is undertaken.
• Helps Maintenance Manager in executing corrective and planned maintenance with due regard to annual scheduled maintenance plan.
• To perform technical evaluation of quotations received from purchase department and recommend appropriate choice.
• To prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables ensuring budgetary constraints and arrange strategic spares availability to cope up with the maintenance requirements.
• Review and recommend new maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Supervise, direct and co-ordinate the activities of all personnel assigned to his area.
• To carry out any other duty assigned to him by the management from time to time.
• Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessment are carried out, controlled and updated
• Implement, monitor and report IMS objectives, Targets and programs
• Provide necessary resources for effective implementation and sustenance of IMS
• Report IMS performance to the management periodically
• Ensure Legal compliance with respect to their scope of activities
• Ensure identification of root cause for the identified non conformances/ deviations and to implement corrective actions/Preventive actions
• Identify the competency gap for their subordinate personnel and implement necessary actions.
• Carry out annual performance evaluation of reporting employees
• Responsible to ensure the compliance to legal requirements, contractual and organizational requirements
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees and evaluate their OJT Performance
• Identification, documentation and control of hazards in assigned work area
• Ensure aspects identified are monitored and operational controls are followed
• Report deviations in Integrated Management System, identify root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Reporting of emergencies and incidents and near misses
• Effective resource utilization
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Specifications

• Educational Desired Bachelor’s engineering degree (B.E) in Electrical for four-year College or university.
• Preferred
• Minimum Experience (Type and duration)
• Minimum 4 - 8 years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferable 10 years of related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Condition

While performing the duties of this position, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. In high precarious places he may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or chemicals risk and electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but very loud conditions do exist.
